Posted on May 31, 2017 in Professional Sports News.

Rookie left-hander Erik Skoglund and three relievers combined to shut out the Tigers last night 1 to 0.

Justin Verlander started for the Tigers and he turned in a great performance despite taking the loss.

Justin threw for 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking         only 1.

The Tigers managed just 3 hits over all.

The series wraps up tonight in Kansas City.

Mathew Boyd will start for the Tigers and Ian Kennedy will go to the mound for Kansas City.

The first pitch is scheduled for 8:15.

Just one day after they touched off a benches-clearing brawl, officials of Major League Baseball suspended the Washington Nationals’ Bryce Harper for 4 games and the San Francisco Giants’ Hunter Strickland for 6 games.

After the suspensions were announced, both players confirmed through team officials that they plan to appeal.
