Miguel Cabrera hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning that gave Detroit Tigers a 5 to 3 win in the opening game of a four game weekend series with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Justin Verlander was the starter for the Tigers.
He ended up with a no-decision despite throwing 7 solid innings.
Verlander gave up 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 6 and walking 5.
Justin Wilson got the win in relief.
Cabrera was 2 for 5 at the plate with a home run and two RBI’s.
J.D. Martinez was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
The series continues tonight at Comerica Park.
The Tigers will start Daniel Norris and the Rays will counter with Erasmo Ramirez.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10.
