MLB – The Take Another Loss

Posted on June 21, 2017 in Professional Sports News.

Kyle Seager doubled in pinch runner Tyler Smith with no outs in the bottom of the 10 inning and the Mariners beat the Tigers 5 to 4 last night in Seattle.

Starter Jordan Zimmermann had a good outing.

He went 6 and 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 7 and walking 3.

Justin Wilson took the loss in relief.

Ian Kinsler led the Tigers offensive attack.

Kinsler was 2 for 4 at the plate, scoring 2 runs and driving in 1.

J.D. Martinez was also 2 for 4 with a run scored and one RBI.

That loss is the 4th in a row…..and 6th in the last 8 games…..for the Tigers, who are now a season-worst 6 games below the .500 mark.

Game three of the four game series is tonight.

Justin Verlander starts for the Tigers tonight and James Paxton goes to the mound for the Mariners.

The first pitch is scheduled for 10:10.
