Negaunee – If there is one defining condition in U.P. high school football, it has nothing to do with the play on the Gridiron. It has nothing to do with the size different of players. It has nothing to do with the competition level.
When it comes to Friday nights, the only thing that is different on the field is the weather conditions.
On parent’s night and the home opener at Miners Stadium in Negaunee, that was much the case. Thirty minutes before game time, gusts of wind and rain had taken out the power in most of the area. The lights had gone out down in the iron town. Just moments before game cancellation, the power lit back up. It was football night in Negaunee once again.
Tyler Beaumont got things started for the Miners, who wouldn’t look back after he scored six early in the ballgame. Great play on both sides of the ball lead Negaunee to their second straight win in conference play and of the season.
The Miners will take on the Gladstone Braves this week. Pre Game set for 7 PM ET on 101.9 WKQS.
The Mustangs will look for their first win of the season at home against Westwood. You can catch all the action on 1400 WQXO.
