The Seattle Mariners beat the Detroit Tigers 7 to 5 last night in Seattle.
It was the Tiger’s fifth straight loss.
Justin Verlander started out very well, but ended up with a no-decision.
He took a perfect game into the 6th inning, and then things fell apart.
The Mariners scored three runs in that sixth inning, and they scored four more runs in the 7th to ice the win.
Verlander pitched 5 and 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits while striking 11 and walking only 1.
Shane Greene took the loss in relief, giving up 4 runs on 3 hits.
J.D. Martinez led the Tiger’s offensive attack.
He was 2 for 5 at the plate with 2 runs scored.
The series wraps up tonight in Seattle.
The Tigers will start Daniel Norris and Seattle will send out Andrew Moore who will be making his Major League debut.
The first pitch is scheduled for 10:10.
