Munising – The Mustangs opened up the home schedule in a tough way Friday night as the Westwood Patriots came to town looking to move to 3-0 on the season.

With only 17 players dressed for play, the Mustangs were the first to get on the board in the first quarter, with their pro set shotgun offense confusing the Westwood defense.

But then the Patriots would respond to the tune of 56 points. In the first half it was all Westwood, as they would roll to a 65-13 win.

Tyler Prophet and Broc Lawry both return kickoffs for touchdowns, while Prophet added a forced fumble, two interceptions and some nice blocking at the fullback position.

The Patriots will take on the Ishpeming Hematites this upcoming Friday in a true battle at the West end.  The Mustangs will take on Gwinn at home. The Patriots have outscored their opponents 140-34 so far this season.
