The 3-0 Westwood Patriots Football team celebrated Homecoming Night with a Tailgate Party to kick off the Friday Night Festivities as they prepare for a Mid-Pen Clash against Undefeated Ishpeming Hematites.
Ishpeming comes out in the Shotgun to start the game, putting the Patriot defense on it’s heels early, taking a 6-0 lead on the 1st series of the game. After shutting down the Homecoming Westwood team, Ishpeming struck again another 26 second later from the shotgun, and with the 2 point conversion, took a 14-0 lead half way through the 1st.
Nearly 2 minutes later, Ishpeming, out of the shotgun offense, scores again to make it 22-0
Then Hemitite QB Olson on a 1st and 10 rolled out and passed for the TD and a score of 28-0 with 3 minutes left in the 1st quarter….followed by another TD and a 31 yard Field Goal to make it 37 -0 in the 2nd to bring on a running clock and hold the Westwood Patriots Scoreless during the 1st half.
Ishpeming continued to dominate in the second half ending the 3nd quarter 49-0.
Westwood continued to played hard, but couldn’t come back from the big 1st half lead, suffering their 1st loss of the year of year and now hold a 3-1 record, While Ishpeming remains Unbeaten 4-0 for the season.
The Westwood Patriots will play host to the Iron Mountain Mountaineers next Friday night. Pregame at 7p E.T., kickoff at 7:30 on 103.3 The Country Extreme.
