The Ishpeming Hematites on a great Friday night went to next door neighbor Negaunee to take on the Miners in hopes of gaining their 7th win in a row.
In the first quarter the Hematites quickly turned over the football quickly on their first possession but made up for it with a stiff defense. After getting the ball back they drove the ball down for the first score of the game to go up 8-0. In the second quarter the Miners got points on the board but failed to convert to make the score 8-6 to make that the score for the half.
In the second half both teams found their offenses sputtering with neither team getting into any rhythm offensively with neither team finding the end-zone in the 3rd quarter. Finally in the 4th quarter the Miners punched in a touchdown through the air to be put ahead 14-8. The Hematites responded on the next possession with a touchdown that tied up the score with 2:46 left in the game.
In overtime Daniel Olson punched it in the end-zone for the win for the Hematites to cap off the game.
