Parents night at A.F. Hall stadium started out pretty good for the Emeralds. The Emeralds hosting Iron Mtn. played above average defense in the first half of play forcing three fumbles and a Gunner Michelson interception that helped them stay close and go into the half time locker room down just 20 – 10.
In the second half however, the Emeralds could manage only one first down on their opening drive, forcing them to punt the ball back to Iron Mt.’s Pat Flood who returned the kick 74 yards for a touchdown. It was all Iron Mt. after that as the Mountianeers put up 27 second half unanswered points and a 47 to 10 victory.
Garde Kangas caught a TD pass from Josh Michelson and Anders Bouiller kicked a 20 yard field goal for the Emeralds points. The loss puts Manistique at 4-2 as they travel to Munising to take on the 3- 3 Mustangs.
