MLB – The Detroit Tigers Start A Home Series With The New York Yankees

Posted on August 22, 2017 in Professional Sports News.

After a day off yesterday, it’s back to work for the Detroit Tigers tonight when they clash with the New York Yankees in the opener of a mid-week series at Comerica Park.

Left-hander Matt Boyd will get the start for Detroit this evening and New York will counter with right-hander Masahiro Tanaka.

The first pitch is at 7:10.

And during an interview yesterday, Detroit Tigers’ General Manager Al Avila said he hasn’t made a decision yet on the future of current manager Brad Ausmus, whose contract will expire at the end of the season.

Ausmus is considered to be ‘on the hot seat’ by many, after the Tigers – who were expected to be playoff contenders before the season began, now sit 15 games below the .500 mark.
