The young Detroit Tigers opened up the bats and beat the Kansas City Royals 13 to 2 last night at Comerica Park.
Anibal Sanchez was the starter, but he left the game in the first inning after being struck by a line drive.
Myles Jaye got the win in relief.
In all, 7 pitchers allowed the Royals only 2 runs on 5 hits.
John Hicks was 3 for 4 with a home run 3 runs scored and 4 RBI’s.
Mikie Mahtook was 3 for 5 at the plate with a home run, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI’s.
The series wraps up tonight with a night game.
Jason Hammel will start for the Royals and the Tigers will send Mathew Boyd to the mound.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10.

The Cleveland Indians beat the Chicago White Sox 9 to 4 last night for their 13th straight win.
The Indians will try to match their franchise record of 14 wins tonight against the White Sox.
The Boston Red Sox won the second longest game in Fenway Park history, a 19 inning affair, by beating the Toronto Blue Jays 3 to 2 with a walk-off RBI single to center field by Handley Ramirez in the bottom of the 19th.
Boston had tied the game in the bottom of the ninth.
