Salvador Perez hit two home runs to help the Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit tigers 13 to 2 last night at Comerica Park.
Royals starter Josh Hammel and Tigers starter Matt Boyd battled to a 2-2 tie through the 6th inning but the Royals broke through for 4 runs in the 7th to seal the victory.
Boyd went 6 innings, giving up 4 runs altogether on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2.
Ian Kinsler hit a home run in the 5th inning to drive in one run.
James McCann drove in the other run for the Tigers.
The Tigers have today off.
Tomorrow they start a 3 game series with the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto.
