MLB – The Cleveland Indians Tie American League Record

Posted on September 13, 2017 in Professional Sports News.

Corey Kluber threw a complete game gem, scattering 5 hits and striking out 8 as the Cleveland Indians beat the Detroit Tigers 2 to 0 yesterday in Cleveland.

This win tied the Indians with the 2002 Oakland A’s with the longest run of consecutive wins in American League history.

Fransisco Lindor provided all the scoring that Cleveland would need with lead-off home run in the first inning.

Matt Boyd was the starter and the loser for the Tigers though he had a good outing.

Boyd threw 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 5 and walking 1.

Nick Castellanos was 2 for 3 at the plate.

The series wraps up today with a day game.

Buck Farmer will take the mound for the Tigers and the Indians will start Mike Clevinger.

Game time is scheduled for 12:10.
