MLB – The Cleveland Indians Set American League Record

The Cleveland Indians beat the Detroit Tigers 5 to 3 yesterday in Cleveland.

With that win the Indians swept the 3 game series.

They also set a new American League record for wins in consecutive games with 21.

Cleveland moved into a tie with the 1935 Chicago Cubs for the Major league record.

Fransisco Lindor once again led the way at the plate for the Indians.

He was 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Buck Farmer was the starter and the loser for the Tigers.

He went 4 innings, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits, including a 3 run home run, while striking out 7 and walking 3.

Nick Castellanos went 2 for 3 at the plate with 1 runs scored and 1 RBI.

 

The Indians will try to set a new Major League record for consecutive game wins when they take on the Royals tonight.

 

The Tigers start a 4 game weekend series with the White Sox at Comerica Park this afternoon.

Chad Bell will get the start for the Tigers.

Game time is at 1:10.
