In the baseball playoffs yesterday; the L.A. Dodgers and the Houston Astros advanced to the League Championship Series round with wins yesterday.
The Dodgers defeated Arizona, 3 to 1 and the Astros beat Boston 5 to 4.
Former Tiger Justin Verlander got the win for Houston.
He came out of the bullpen to take over for starter Charlie Morton in the fifth inning, the first time in his career that Verlander has been used in relief.
Other finals from Monday: the New York Yankees beat Cleveland, 7 to 3 and the Chicago Cubs downed washington, 2 to 1.
The Washington Nationals play the Cubs in Chicago today in game 4 of their series.
The first pitch is scheduled for 5:30.
Chicago leads the series 2 games to 1.
