The Ishpeming Hematites went on the road for the first time tonight to play the Manistique Emeralds. The Hematites dropped a close game to the Emeralds 47-44 that was down to the last shot.
The game was physical and close for the first half with Manistique being ahead 18-17 by the end of the half. After pulling away to a six point lead after the 3rd quarter the Hematites started a comeback in the 4th quarter. They pulled to within one point with about a minute to go but free throws by the Emeralds ultimately ended the comeback.
The girls team drops to 1-1 and next take on the Gladstone Braves on Thursday, December 9th in Ishpeming. Pregame will be 7pm and tip off will be at 7:30PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
