MLB – The Detroit Tigers Try Something New To Beat The Tampa Bay Rays

The Detroit Tigers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3 to 2 on a walk off bunt RBI in the bottom of the 12 inning yesterday at Comerica Park.

JaCoby Jones hit a lead off triple to start the bottom of the 12th .

Then John Hicks came to the plate with a man on third and no one out and laid down a perfect bunt to score Jones from 3rd to take the series.

Michael Fulmer was the starting pitcher for the Tigers and he turned in a quality start.

Fulmer threw 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, striking out 5 and walking 2.

The bullpen was stellar again.

6 relief pitchers gave up no runs on 2 hits, striking out 6 more Rays and walking 2.


The Tigers are in Kansas City to play the Royals this weekend.

They start the series today with a day game.

Mike Fiers will start for the Tigers and Eric Scoglund takes the mound for the Royals.

The first pitch is scheduled for 2:15.
