Mike Moustakas had 3 RBI’s and Salvador Perez had the other one, and the Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit Tigers 4 to 2 yesterday in the finale of that 4-game weekend series in Kansas City.
Jake Junis was the winning pitcher for K.C..
Junis improved his record to 5 and 2 by going 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, striking out 8 Tigers, and walking 1.
Matt Boyd was the starter for Detroit and he was the loser.
Boyd went 7 innings also; giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, striking our 5 Royals and walking 1.
John Hicks had the 2 RBI’s for Detroit.
Hicks hit his 3rd home run of the season, a solo shot, in the 4th inning.
The Tigers are in Texas to begin a 3-game series with the Texas Rangers tonight.
Michael Fulmer will start for the Tigers and Matt Moore goes to the mound for Texas.
The first pitch is scheduled for 8:05.
