The Munising Mustangs played a tough game against a tough opponent Friday night.The Negaunee Miners have a notably big team this year. With the exception of one match-up, the Miners were taller than every Munising player. But that didn’t hold the Mustangs back. The first quarter proved to be a close game with the score just 12-8 at the end, with the Miners in the lead. As the second quarter winded down, it became clear that this was a defensive game with a fair share of physical contact. The Miners proved to have the stronger defense, however, and out rebounded the Mustangs, which played a big role in their victory. Score at halftime was 32-22 with the Mustangs holding on and keeping the game within reach. Munising eventually closed the gap down to only 6 points by the end of the game, but couldn’t quite pull off the win. The Munising Mustang boys varsity basketball team record is now 1-1.
Join us next Tuesday December 14, 2010, when the Girls Basketball Munising Mustangs take on Negaunee Miners. Pre-game starts at 7:15 pm. The game starts 7:30 pm.
Next Friday December 16, 2010 the Boys Basketball Munising Mustangs will be hosting Iron Mountain Mountaineers at home. Pre-game starts at 7:00 pm. The game starts at 7:30 pm.
