At Ishpeming tonight the boys Hematites played the Negaunee Miners in the district final. Unfortunately the Miners were just too tough in a back and forth defensive game.
The Hematites started a bit cold out of the gate tonight and were down by eight, 19-11 at half. By the end of the 3rd quarter the Hematites had erased the Miners lead and had taken the lead 24-22. From there it was a back and forth close game and it was two free throws that put the Miners up 35-33. Ishpeming took a shot at the buzzer it was no good for the Miner win.
The Ishpeming Hematites had a great season sharing the Mid-Peninsula Conference with Negaunee and Iron Mountain.
