Doug Fister allowed three runs in four-and-a-third innings for the loss.

Miguel Cabrera extended his AL batting average and RBI lead after a 2-for-3 performance including an RBI single for Detroit.

Cabrera heads into the final day of the regular season leading all three AL Triple Crown categories.

Detroit sends Luis Marte to the mound in tonight’s regular season finale, while Luis Mendoza gets the nod for Kansas City. First pitch is set for 8:10 p.m.
