Tigers lose game three.

The Detroit Tigers lost Game Three of the American League Division Series 2-0 to the A’s last night in Oakland.

Anibal Sanchez was charged with the loss. He gave up two runs on five hits while striking out three over six-and-one-third innings.

Oakland pitching held Detroit to four hits, with starter Brett Anderson giving up just two hits and striking out six in six innings.

Tonight, Max Scherzer starts for the Tigers, while the A’s counter with A.J. Griffin. Game time at the Oakland Coliseum is 9:07 p.m.

Detroit now leads the best-of-five series two-games-to-one.

Buster Posey scored on an error with two outs in the top of the 10th as the Giants avoided elimination with a 2-1 win over the Reds in Game Three of their NLDS.

Angel Pagan scored a run on a sac-fly in the third for the Giants, who had only three hits in the win.

Sergio Romo threw two perfect innings to get the victory.

Jay Bruce singled in a run in the first for the Reds, who still hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series.

Jonathan Broxton was charged with the loss. Cincinnati will host Game Four on today.
