The Detroit Tigers five game winning streak was snapped with a 6-2 loss to the Minnesota Twins yesterday afternoon at Comerica Park.
Anibal Sanchez was charged with the loss. He gave up three runs on five hits and struck out nine in six innings.
Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-3 at the plate, including an RBI double and Torii Hunter also drove in a run.
Detroit opens a four-game series with the Houston Astros tonight on the road. First pitch is 8:10 p.m.
The Tigers will send Rick Porcello (1-2, 8.84 ERA) to the mound against Jordan Lyles of the Astros.
Houston joined the American League this season.
In other games it was the Pittsburgh Pirates 6 and the Milwaukee Brewers 4. The Cubbies from Chicago beat the San Diego Padres 6 to 2.
