The Detroit Tigers Beat The Houston Astros – Teams Play Tonight

The Detroit Tigers needed 14 innings to beat the Houston Astros 7-3 in the first of a four game series last night in Houston.

Don Kelly hit an RBI single, Matt Tuiasosopo added a two-run double and Jhonny Peralta drove in a run as Detroit scored four times in the 14th.

Luke Putkonen got the win after striking out four in two and one third innings of work.


Tonight, Doug Fister will take the mound for the Tigers as the Astros counter with Bud Norris.     First pitch is set for 8:10



The  Cubbies of Chicago lost to the Padres 4 to 2 and the  St. Louis Cardinals beat the  Milwaukee Brewers   6 to 5.
