Justin Verlander took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as the Detroit Tigers swept the Houston Astros, with a 9-0 win yesterday afternoon.
Detroit has now won 9 of their last 10
Verlander improved his record to 4-and-2 He gave up two hits and struck out nine.
Prince Fielder hit a two-run homer while Brayan Pena, Andy Dirks and Omar Infante also hit home runs.
The Tigers begin a two-game series with the Washington Nationals tomorrow.
In other games it was the St. Louis Cardinals 10 and the Milwaukee Brewers 1 and the Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 7 to 4.
