Andy Dirks hit the first grand slam of his career to lift the Detroit Tigers to a 7-2 win over the Houston Astros last night at Comerica Park.
Dirks went three-for-four at the plate with four RBIs, and Victor Martinez also had a two run homer for the Tigers, who improved to 21-and-15 with the win.
Anibal Sanchez got his fourth win of the season. He gave up two runs on six hits and struck out eight in seven innings.
Tonight, Doug Fister (4-1, 3.14 ERA) goes to the mound for Detroit, while Lucas Harrell (3-3, 4.67 ERA) gets the start for Houston. First pitch is 7:08 p.m.
Also: the Milwaukee Brewers took the Pittsburgh Pirates 5 to 1. And the Chicago Cubs beat the Colorado Rockies 9 to 1.
