The Detroit Tigers Beat The Houston Astros – The Two Teams Play This Afternoon

Doug Fister got his fifth win of the season as the Detroit Tigers beat the Houston Astros 6-2 last night at Comerica Park.

Fister gave up two runs on five hits while striking out seven in seven innings, and Joaquin Benoit and Jose Valverde each pitched a scoreless inning for the win.

Miguel Cabrera went two-for-three at the plate with a solo home run, in the seventh. Andy Dirks, Don Kelly, Ramon Santiago and Victor Martinez each had an RBI.


This afternoon, Max Scherzer (5-0, 3.61 ERA) gets the start for Detroit, while Houston sends Dallas Keuchel (0-1, 4.43 ERA) to the mound.

First pitch at Comerica Park is 1:08 p.m.


It was the Pittsburgh Pirates 4, Milwaukee Brewers 3 in 12 innings.  And the  Colorado Rockies beat the  Chicago Cubs 9 to 4.
