The Detroit Tigers Drop One To The Houston Astros – Play The Texas Rangers Next

The Detroit Tigers dropped their series finale with the Houston Astros 7-5 yesterday afternoon at Comerica Park.

Starter Max Scherzer gave up five runs on five hits, including two home runs, while striking out five in seven innings, and Al Alburquerque was charged with the loss in relief.

Avisail Garcia hit his first career home run, a three run shot, in the second inning and Matt Tuiasosopo went three-for-three with an RBI.

 

Tonight, Detroit begins a six-game road trip with a stop in Texas.

Justin Verlander takes the mound for the Tigers as the Rangers counter with Yu Darvish.          First-pitch is 8:05 p.m.

 

In other games it was Pittsburgh Pirates 3, and the Milwaukee Brewers 1. The Chicago Cubs beat the Colorado Rockies 6 to 3
