The Detroit Tigers Beat The Pittsburg Pirates – The Two Teams Play Tonight

The Detroit Tigers hung on for a 6-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday afternoon in interleague play at Comerica Park.

Jhonny Peralta went four-for-four at the plate with three RBIs and Victor Martinez knocked in two runs.

Justin Verlander got the win, giving up three runs on seven hits and striking out 13 over seven innings, while Jose Valverde notched his sixth save of the year.

Tonight, Rick Porcello takes the mound for Detroit and Pittsburgh counters with Jeanmar Gomez.

Game time is 7:08 p.m.

 

Elsewhere it was the Chicago Cubs 7 and the  Chicago White Sox 0.

And the Minnesota Twins took the  Milwaukee Brewers 6 to 3.
