French Open Stalled By Rain.

Posted on May 31, 2013 in Professional Sports News.

The second round of the French Open continued yesterday, but rain interrupted play in Paris, forcing a handful of matches to be suspended or postponed.

There was a big upset on the women’s side, as American Bethanie Mattek-Sands knocked off 2011 champion Li Na in three sets.

Other notable women’s winners included two-time Australian Open champ Victoria Azarenka, 2011 Wimbledon champ Petra Kvitova and 2010 French runner-up Samantha Stosur.

Novak Djokovic was among the men’s winners, dropping just four games in a rout of Guido Pella.
