The Detroit Tigers Lose Another One To The Pittsburgh Pirates – Tigers Go To Baltimore Next

The Detroit Tigers were edged by the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 in eleven innings last night in Pittsburgh.

Doug Fister struck out 12 and allowed four hits in seven innings, while Luke Putkonen was charged with the loss after giving up three hits and the game’s only run in the bottom of the 11th.

Detroit left 11 men on base in the loss.


Tonight, the Tigers begin a three-game series against the Orioles in Baltimore. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.

Max Scherzer (7-0, 3.42 ERA) goes to the hill for Detroit, while Miguel Gonzalez (2-2, 3.94 ERA) gets the start for Baltimore.


In other games it was the Minnesota Twins 8 and the  Milwaukee Brewers 6.  And the  Chicago Cubs beat the  Chicago White Sox 8 to 3.
