(CHELSEA, Mich.) – More than 250 Special Olympics Michigan athletes from all across the state will make their way to Chrysler Group’s Chelsea Proving Grounds on Saturday, September 7 for the State Cycling and Flag Football Finals.
This is the inaugural year for the State Flag Football Finals. The event will include games for both traditional and unified teams as well as a skills competition if time permits. Unified teams feature athletes with and without intellectual disabilities competing together.
The State Cycling Finals will have timed competitions with athletes racing various distances. Special Olympics Michigan is very grateful for Chrysler Group’s generosity in hosting its athletes for this great event.

Jordan anticipates that with the addition of the Flag Football Finals, about 150 Chrysler Group Employees will be on hand to help facilitate the event.
The number of athletes participating in the State Cycling and Flag Football Finals has nearly doubled since 2011. The State Cycling and Flag Football Finals is one of a dozen state-level competitions held annually for Special Olympics Michigan athletes.
