The Detroit Tigers were beaten soundly by the Red Sox 20-4 in the final game of a three game set last night in Boston.
Rick Porcello was charged with the loss, as Tigers pitchers gave up 19 hits, including eight home runs.
The eight home runs ties a team record for most in a game by the Red Sox, and unfortunately those eight home runs given up by the Tigers is a franschise record.
Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz went deep twice and added a double to surpass 2,000 hits in his career.
Prince Fielder hit a two run shot and Torii Hunter and Jose Iglesias each had an RBI.
Detroit has a day off today, but will host the Kansas City Royals in a weekend series beginning tomorrow night.
