Posted on September 6, 2013 in Professional Sports News.

Peyton Manning threw for 462 yards and tied an NFL-record with seven touchdown passes, as the Broncos opened up the 2013 season with a 49-27 rout of the defending Super Bowl champion Ravens at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Demaryius Thomas had five catches for 161 yards and two TD’s, while Wes Welker and Julius Thomas also had two scores each for the Broncos, who put up 28 straight points to open the second half en route to the lopsided victory.

Welker had a game-high nine catches in his Broncos debut.

Joe Flacco finished 34-of-62 for 362 yards with two TD’s and two interceptions for the Ravens, who are coming off their second title in franchise history.
