NFL – The Detroit Lions Win And The Green Bay Packers Lose In Week One

Matthew Stafford threw for 357 yards and two touchdowns as the Detroit Lions topped the Minnesota Vikings 34-24 in the season opener at Ford Field yesterday afternoon.

Reggie Bush had 101 yards and a touchdown receiving to go with a team-high 90 yards rushing.

Joique Bell had two rushing scores for the Lions.

The Lions travel to Arizona in Week Two.

Christian Ponder finished 18-of-28 for 236 yards and a TD, but threw three interceptions and had a fumble.

Adrian Peterson had a 78-yard TD run early in the first quarter but ended with just 93 yards for Minnesota, who head to Chicago next week.


Colin Kaepernick threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns as the San Francisco 49ers downed the Green Bay Packers 34 to 28 at Candlestick Park.

Aaron Rogers was 21 for 37 for 333 yards and three touchdowns in the effort.

Jordy Nelson caught seven passes with one touchdown.

Randall Cobb had seven catches and a TD as well.

The Packers are at Lambeau Field next week to take on the Washington Redskins.
