The Detroit Tigers rallied for two runs in the late innings to beat the Seattle Mariners 5-4 yesterday afternoon at Comerica Park.
Victor Martinez had two hits and two RBI, including a double in the seventh which scored Prince Fielder to give Detroit the lead for good.
Doug Fister earned his 13th win of the season.
He gave up four runs on nine hits while striking out ten in seven and two third innings and Joaquin Benoit notched his 22nd save.
The win drops the Tigers magic number to clinch the American League Central Division title to four.
Tonight, Detroit begins their final home series of the year, as the Chicago White Sox visit for three games.
First pitch at Comerica Park is 7:08 p.m.
Max Scherzer (19-3, 2.95 ERA) takes the mound for the Tigers, while Andre Rienzo (2-2, 5.04 ERA) gets the nod for the White Sox.
