The Detroit Tigers are one game away from being eliminated from the playoffs, after falling to the Athletics 6-3 yesterday at Comerica Park giving Oakland a 2-1 lead in their American League Division series.
Anibal Sanchez got the loss, getting tagged for six runs, five earned, on eight hits, while striking out six in four and one third innings.
Jhonny Peralta hit a two-run single in the fourth to tie the game at three-all, but the A’s came back with three unanswered runs in the fifth to take the lead for good.
Today, Detroit sends Doug Fister to the mound, while Dan Straily gets the start for Oakland.
First pitch at Comerica Park is 5:07 p.m.
