Nick Novak drilled a 50-yard field goal with two minutes left in the fourth quarter to clinch a 19-9 win for the Chargers against the Colts on “Monday Night Football” at Qualcomm Stadium.
San Diego rookie wide receiver Keenan Allen continued his tremendous play hauling in a 22-yard touchdown from Philip Rivers on his way to nine catches and 107 yards.
Ryan Mathews ran for 102 yards on 22 carries, while Rivers passed for 237 and didn’t turn the ball over.
The Chargers joined four other teams in the AFC at 3-and-3.
Indianapolis was held to three Adam Vinatieri field goals.
Andrew Luck completed 18-of-30 passes for 202 yards with a late interception.
Trent Richardson compiled 10 carries for 40 yards.
The Colts fell to 4-and-2, but still lead the AFC South by a game.
