Posted on October 16, 2013 in Professional Sports News.

The Detroit Red Wings won their third straight game with a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Joe Louis Arena last night.

Jonas Gustavsson stopped 36 shots as he was in goal for his second game in a row in place of Jimmy Howard, who has a bruised hand.

Daniel Alfredsson scored his first goal for the Wings and Todd Bertuzzi also lit the lamp as Detroit improved their record to 5-2 on the season.

The Red Wings face off against the unbeaten Avalanche in Colorado tomorrow night.
