Marquette Junior Hockey – The Royales Sweep For a 7 Point First Place Lead

The first place Marquette Royales swept their nearest challengers, the Illiana Blackbirds, this weekend.

They started Friday with a 7 to 3 win.

Goaltender Nate Eminger made 31 saves in the effort.


In game two on Saturday the Royales jumped out to a 4-0 lead by the midddle of the second period.

That helped the Royales to cruise to a 6 to 1 win.

Robbie Gervino had two goals.


On Sunday the Royales completed the sweep with a 6 to 3 win.

Drew Jarvis got two goals.


Jeff Salsbrunn and Lane King finished the weekend with an incredible 7 assists each!

The wins increased the Royale’s first place lead to seven points.
