Jon Lester out pitcheed Adam Wainwright again as the Red Sox took a 3-2 lead in the World Series beating the Cardinals, 3-1, at Busch Stadium last night.
Lester allowed one run and struck out seven across seven-and-two-third innings to pick up his second win in the Fall Classic.
Koji Uehara nailed down his second save getting the final four outs.
The offense was supplied by a David Ortiz RBI double in the first inning, plus a David Ross one-run double and Jacoby Ellsbury RBI single in the seventh.
Adam Wainwright took his second loss of the series despite striking out 10 and allowing three runs in seven innings.
Matt Holliday’s home run in the fourth was the only run St. Louis would score.
Boston tries to close out the series in Game Six at Fenway Park on Wednesday night.
