MLB – The Detroit Tigers Take Another Game From The Texas Rangers

The Detroit Tigers beat the Texas Rangers 8-6 last night in Arlington for their sixth straight win.

Victor Martinez and J.D. Martinez hit back to back home runs in the fifth inning and Miguel Cabrera had two RBIs.

Anibal Sanchez got the win, surrendering four runs on six hits while striking out five in five and one third innings of work, while Joe Nathan got his 16 save of the season.

In tonight’s series finale, Rick Porcello goes for Detroit and Texas counters with Nick Martinez.

First pitch is 8:05 p.m.
San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum is celebrating his second career no-hitter.

The right-hander held the San Diego Padres hitless in a 4-0 win at AT&T Park yesterday.

The two-time National League Cy Young winner walked one and struck out six.

He threw his first career no-hitter against the Padres last July in San Diego.
