The Rangers have traded Soria to the Tigers in exchange for right-handed pitchers Corey Knebel and Jake Thompson.
Soria is 1-and-3 with 17 saves and a 2.70 ERA in 35 games this season with the Rangers.
The 30-year-old right-hander has 177 saves and a 2.51 ERA in 359 career games with Kansas City and Texas.
