The Detroit Tigers ninth inning comeback fell short as they lost to the A’s 7-5 yesterday afternoon at Comerica Park.
Detroit has now lost seven straight games and have been swept in two consecutive series.
Shane Greene was charged with the loss.
He gave up six runs on eight hits while striking out two before being chased after four and one third innings.
Tyler Collins hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth and Miguel Cabrera and Ian Kinsler each had an RBI.
The Tigers open a three game weekend series with the White Sox in Chicago tonight.
Kyle Ryan will get the start for Detroit, while Jose Quintana takes the mound for Chicago
