Former Detroit Red Wings teammates Sergei Federov and Nicklas Lidstrom are among the NHL Hall of Fame Class of 2015.
Federov spent 13 seasons with Detroit, winning three Stanley Cups, the Hart Trophy as league MVP and the Seilke Trophy as best defensive forward twice and was part of the team’s Russian Five.
In his 20-year NHL career, all with the Wings, Lidstrom won the Stanley Cup four times, the Norris Trophy for the league’s top defensive player seven times and an Olympic gold medal with Sweden.
Inductees Federov and Lidstrom are joined by former NHL players Phil Housley and Chris Pronger.
Four time Olympian Angela Ruggiero from Harper Woods, Detroit native Peter Karmanos junior and Bill Hay round out the Class of 2015.
The induction ceremony will be held November 9th in Toronto.
