Eric Hosmer’s sacrifice fly RBI in the bottom of the 14th inning gave the Royals a 5-4 win over the Mets in Game One of the World Series.
The game went to extra innings after Alex Gordon clubbed a tying solo homer in the bottom of the ninth.
Alcides Escobar led off the bottom of the first with an inside-the-park homerun for the Royals.
Chris Young threw three no-hit innings in relief to get the win.
The Kansas City Royals host the New York Mets in Game Two of the World Series tonight.
The Mets will look to even the best-of-seven series with Jacob deGrom on the mound.
Kansas City will counter with Johnny Cueto. First-pitch is at 8:07 p.m. Eastern.
