Michigan State (12-1) is headed to the College Football Playoff national semifinals, while Michigan (9-3) will play in the Citrus Bowl.
The Spartans are ranked third and will play number-two Alabama in the Cotton Bowl on December 31st.
MSU is coming off Saturday’s 16-13 win over then No.4 Iowa to win the Big Ten Championship.
In the other semifinal, top-ranked Clemson will take on No.4 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl New Years Eve.
The 14th-ranked Wolverines will face number-19 Florida in a New Year’s Day matchup in Orlando, Florida.
