MLB – The Tigers Take Rubber Game From The Yankees

Michael Fulmer extended his scoreless-innings streak with six more sharp frames and Ian Kinsler homered for the second consecutive game, leading the Tigers to a 4-1 victory over the Yankees on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

Fulmer won his fifth straight start by blanking the Yankees on two hits in a 91 pitch gem, with three walks and three strikeouts.

The right-hander has now worked 28 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings.

Michael Pineda took the loss despite striking out eight and allowing just two runs over six innings.

Nick Castellanos lifted a fourth-inning sacrifice fly and Victor Martinez had an RBI groundout in the fifth off Pineda.

Kinsler slammed a two-run homerun, his 13th, off Anthoney Swarzak in the seventh inning

 

The Tigers start a three game series with the Chicago White Sox tonight.

Matt Boyd of the Tigers will go against the newly acquired James Shields.

Game time is 8:10.
