The Detroit Tigers fell to the Cleveland Indians 9-3 yesterday at Comerica Park.
The loss makes the Tigers 0-9 against Cleveland this year-getting outscored 60-20.
Justin Verlander allowed eight runs on nine hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings.
He became the first pitcher in franchise history to give up four home runs in one inning.
Only once before had Verlander allowed four homers in any start-also against Cleveland in 2007.
The Tigers are an even 500 on the season and have Monday off before hosting the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.
Mike Pelfrey is scheduled to start for the Tigers and Adam Conley will take the mound for the Marlins.
