NHL – The Detroit Red Wings Shut Out The Montreal Canadiens

Posted on January 17, 2017 in Professional Sports News.

Thomas Vanek’s goal late in second period propelled the Red Wings to a 1 – 0 win over the Montreal Canadiens, yesterday, at Joe Louis Arena.

Goaltender Jared Coreau stopped all 18 of the shots that he faced to earn the win, his 5th of the year.

The win means the Wings are now just six points behind the Philadelphia Flyers in the chase for the final playoff spot in the East.
